Business & System Analyst

Promise Group specializes in software licensing optimization, IT systems design, implementation, maintenance, and business application development. 

We are looking for a Business & System Analyst to join our team and support the delivery of internal IT projects, with a strong focus on finance, accounting, and data.

One of the key initiatives you will be involved in is the development of our internal Data Warehouse, where you will help translate business needs into clear requirements and solutions, work with data coming from different systems, and support the team in connecting business processes with technical implementation.

This role is a great fit for someone who understands both business processes and technology and enjoys investigating how different systems and data sources work together.

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements based on the needs of internal stakeholders (C-level management)
• Identify and understand business needs and objectives and translate them into clear requirements and actionable solutions.
• Analyze business processes, particularly in the finance, accounting and operations area, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work with data coming from different internal systems, analyze relationships between them, and draw conclusions.
• Support the development of the internal Data Warehouse, including requirements gathering, data analysis, and cooperation with technical teams.
• Use SQL to investigate data, validate information, and perform basic data analysis.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Solution Architect, Data & Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Bridge the gap between business expectations and technical implementation, ensuring that requirements are well understood by all parties.
• Support testing and validation of implemented solutions to ensure they meet business requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal systems and processes.

Must-have:

• Several years of experience as a Business & System Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Proven experience working on IT projects related to accounting and/or finance - this is essential for the role.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, such as Enova or similar solutions.
• Working knowledge of SQL - you should be comfortable writing simple queries and using SQL to investigate and validate data.
• Good understanding of how databases work and how data is structured and connected.
• Practical knowledge of UML and experience creating and interpreting UML diagrams.
• Experience defining and documenting User Stories, including clear descriptions, business context, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Ability to analyze data coming from different systems and sources, identify relationships and inconsistencies, and connect the dots to understand the bigger picture.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Power BI and understanding of data visualization and reporting.
• Experience working with BI projects.
• Experience in defining data-related requirements or working with data integration between systems. 
• Experience working with Azure DevOps.
